Building Hope, One Floor at a Time

As the NFL season kicks off and summer comes to an end, the Hope Infant School community is welcoming students back after a well-deserved August break. And while the children were enjoying their break, something wonderful was happening behind the scenes: our incredible construction team was hard at work!
We’re thrilled to share that the second floor of our second building is now complete! Over the break, our construction team has been busy plastering and painting walls, installing windows, adding electrical outlets, and transforming the space into classrooms where children will learn, grow, and dream about their futures.
When you see the before-and-after photos, we think you’ll be just as excited as the students and staff are. What was once an unfinished space is quickly becoming a beautiful, welcoming part of the Hope Infant School campus.
And we’re not stopping here! The plan is to move on to the third floor during the Christmas holidays.
A New Home for Our Girls
In the meantime, we’ve found a wonderful interim solution for our girls who live at Hope School. Two classrooms are now serving as temporary girls’ dormitories until the third floor is finished. The girls were absolutely thrilled when they saw their new beds arrive.
Of course, there was one very important decision to make: Who gets the upper bunks?
The answer became clear very quickly, if you want the top bunk, you’d better speak up fast! We love seeing these small moments of excitement and joy. They remind us that building a school is about so much more than walls, windows, and floors. It’s about creating a nurturing place where children can learn, belong, and feel at home.
We Couldn’t Do This Without You
As we celebrate these milestones, we want to pause and say thank you.
To every donor who has given financially, every person who has prayed for Hope Infant School, and every friend who has shared our story with others: please know how deeply grateful we are.
None of this would be possible without you.
Your generosity is helping turn plans into buildings, buildings into classrooms, and classrooms into opportunities for children.
There is still so much work ahead, but today, we are pausing to celebrate how far we’ve come and to say thank you for helping us get here.
Together, we are building more than classrooms. We are building hope.
Save the Date!
Our annual fundraiser is coming up on Saturday, November 14th at O’Toole’s in Libertyville!
Watch for your email for the invitation in early October, and please feel free to bring others with you. We would love to celebrate this incredible journey with you and share even more about what your generosity is making possible at Hope Infant School.
Thank you for believing in these children, investing in their future, and helping us build hope, one floor at a time.
