As we prepare to bid farewell to Fr. Martin at the end of his time with St. Joseph Parish, we’re excited to share a meaningful update on a project close to our hearts—Building Hope Uganda.
In April, we announced a major milestone: Phase 1 of our library project was officially complete! The second story is now fully constructed—on time and under budget. Thanks to your generous gifts of time, prayers, and resources, what was once a dream has become a vibrant, thriving space for our students. We couldn’t be more grateful.
But the story doesn’t end there.
While we had hoped to begin Phase 2 in May, a delay in securing one of our building permits held us back. The good news? All permits for Phase 2 are now approved and in hand! We’re making the most of this time to finalize construction plans, order materials, and complete all the necessary preparations. We’re thrilled to announce that we’re on track to break ground on August 2nd.
Demolish one of the current classroom buildings. Build the 1st floor consisting of 4 classrooms and bathrooms. (8/25–9/25)
Build the 2nd floor consisting of 4 classrooms. (12/25–1/26)
Build the 3rd floor consisting of dormitory for boys and girls including bathrooms. (5/26–6/26)
Purchase new furniture and classroom accessories. (Ongoing)
Replace dormitory furnishings and incidentals. (Ongoing)
None of this would be possible without your unwavering support. Together, we’re not just building a structure—we’re building opportunity, hope, and a brighter future.
We look forward to celebrating continued progress with Fr. Martin in the fall —stay tuned for more details as we get closer.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being such an essential part of this journey. Let’s keep building the next chapter—together!
