Every morning in Kampala, the sun rises over a school that’s being transformed and it’s exciting to watch. We think you’ll agree.
Â
Thanks to great weather and an outstanding local construction crew, progress has been moving quickly. Since December 1, the old one-story classroom building has been demolished, a brand-new foundation poured, the first floor completed, and the second floor well underway. What was once an aging structure is becoming a place filled with possibility.
Â
The construction teams have been putting in long hours and doing the work the right way carefully, safely, and without cutting corners. While local building regulations require us to wait until the next school break in May to add the third story, there’s still plenty happening in the meantime. Over the next few months, the focus will be on finishing the interior of the second-floor classrooms so they’re ready for desks, whiteboards, and all the details that turn a room into a place for learning.
Â
School schedules in Uganda are a bit different from what many of us are used to. Instead of a long summer break, schools close for about two months, from December 1 to early February. When the new school year begins on February 9, students will return to campus, and we think they’ll be surprised (and pretty excited) by what they see.
Â
This project is about more than construction. It’s about believing in the power of education. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. believed education could change lives and open doors. He dreamed of a world where every child had the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity. Rebuilding this school in Uganda is one small but meaningful way to carry that dream forward.
Â
For these students, a classroom isn’t just a building, it’s a safe place to learn, to ask questions, and to imagine a brighter future. Education gives children the chance to break cycles of poverty and build something better for themselves and their communities.
Â
And none of this would be possible without you. Your support is part of every wall that rises and every classroom that comes together. We hope you feel proud of what you’re helping make possible because real change is happening, and it’s because of you.

Thank you for being on this journey with us. Stay tuned for more updates soon!
